The First Week of October
It has been a jam pack, birthday filled, fun week here in second grade! We had not one but TWO birthdays this week- CJ and Zuri both turned 8 years old. We had a blast celebrating both of our birthday kids. The week started off on such a good note with the Blessing of the Pets on Monday morning. We were able to finish writing about our September memories this week in writing. The kids also had the opportunity to share their silly "Roll- a - Story" writing activity. The kids had to roll a dice to pick a character, setting, and a silly problem; with that info they wrote their silly stories! It was so much fun to see the kids' confidence when they shared their writing. It was a proud teacher moment for me for sure! In science we had a blast learning about the life cycle of a pumpkin! I brought in real pumpkins so the kids could write about all the similarities and differences. We are all decorated for Halloween in second grade. We will be working on lots of fun and educational Halloween activities throughout the month to get into the Halloween spirit :)
Birthday boy hard a work:)
